“With the blessings of Poojya Swamiji’s, support from Principal and HOD, department of MBA organised and event “Cooking without fire” under cultural committee for the students of 4th and 2nd semester on 30.07.2024 between 2.00pm to 4.00 pm.
Eighteen teams participated in the Competition The participants prepared healthy dishes like Sandwiches, Salad, Cakes, fruit/vegetable juices and many more using easy and quick recipes.
The competition was a great way to promote healthy eating and to encourage students to be creative, to think outside the box and experiment with different ingredients and flavor combinations to create tasty and visually appealing dishes.
The Event was judged by Dr.Chandrappa, HOD-ECE, Dr.Vittala HOD-Mechanical, Dr.Doreswamy, HOD, Physics Department and winners, Runners-I and Runners II were declared.

“With the blessings of Pujya Swamiji and the guidance of our esteemed Principal and HOD, the Department of Management Studies (MBA) successfully organized an industrial visit to the Dairy Day Factory in Harohalli on July 19, 2024 for our fourth-semester students.
This insightful visit provided students with a comprehensive understanding of ice cream manufacturing processes, encompassing production, inventory management, freezing techniques, marketing strategies, and technological applications. The students expressed their sincere gratitude to the management, principal, HOD, and the visit coordinator for this valuable opportunity to gain practical exposure to the industrial work environment”.

The event was organized with the purpose of stimulating innovative thinking and creativity in developing marketing strategies, providing platforms for students to brainstorm and present new marketing ideas. and to develop analytical skills for measuring and evaluating marketing strategies and campaigns.”
“Imbued with the wisdom of Pujya Swamiji and under the esteemed guidance of the Principal and HOD-MBA, the Department of MBA proudly hosted a seminar on ‘Gender Equity’ in collaboration with NIPM and IIC. This enriching event, held on June 29th, 2024, in the MBA Seminar Hall at 10:00 AM, was specifically designed for the intellectual enrichment of our esteemed IV Semester students.
Gracing the occasion as our distinguished speaker was Ms. Vidhya Rani, Lead HR Business Partner at Rittal Pvt. Ltd. Her expertise and insightful perspective illuminated the concept of ‘Gender Equity’ for our students, utilizing captivating real-world examples to enhance understanding. The seminar delved deeply into the various facets of gender equity, encompassing relevant legislations, policies, and organizational laws. Through this comprehensive exploration, students were empowered to not only raise awareness and foster understanding of this critical issue but also cultivate positive attitudes towards a more equitable and inclusive society. They were equipped with the knowledge and tools to become active contributors in creating a world where gender equality thrives.”
“With the blessings of Pooja Swamiji’s and with the support of Principal and, HOD-MBA, Department of MBA has organised an event “Art out of Waste” on 26-06-2024 for IV semester students. The motto of the event is to ‘recycle it all, no matter how small’; Art from waste is an interesting way to recycle and reuse items that end up in a bin. Thirteen teams participated in this event by creating very interesting things from the waste materials (recyclable and non-recyclable things). They prepared very creative and art items from different waste materials. They used reusable and recyclable materials like newspapers, shoe boxes, bangles, ice cream stick’s and much more and prepared -Wall hanging, pen holders, showpieces, Coffee mug and cups, Emoji’s from Egg shell, Bag from paper, Doll, Photo frame, Hut, Timer, etc
The result of competition was evaluated under the parameter Creativity, Utilization of Resources, Artistic composition & design, Utility of the Product, Eco-friendly rating”.
With the blessings of Pujya Swamiji and the support from respected Principal sir and Dr. Mamatha J, HOD-MBA, Department of MBA organized a Guest Lecture on “Building A Career In Financial Market”on 19 June 2024 for IV Semester Students., in CSE Seminar Hall from 1:30 PM onwards. Speaker of the session was Mr.. Hitesh Singhi, CEO FinGrad. The speaker spoke in detail on the various career opportunities available in financial markets. He touched upon the trading opportunities available to retail investors and the risks associated with trading in futures & options market and cash market. He advised students to study the stock market for a considerable period before jumping into it to make a fortune. He quoted examples on F&O from BSE and NSE to make the session more interactive followed by questions and answer session , IV semester MBA students actively participated in the session”.
“With the blessings of His Holiness Bhyravykya Jagadguru Padmabhushana Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji, His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, Revered Sri Sri Dr. Prakashnatha Swamiji, Managing Director BGS & SJB Group of Institutions and Hospitals, Department of Management Studies (MBA) successfully completed a One Day Workshop on “Mastering Communication for Success” for the benefit of First semester students on 28-05-2024. The objective of the workshop was to enhance communication skills among students including basic Etiquettes.
Resource persons, Mr.Suraj PG and Mr.Narender Sirimalla of MindBurger Innovative Solutions Private Limited, gave insights on Observation skills and improving their Vocabulary to make an impact on their career. They stressed on the importance of Eye Contact, Non verbal Communication, being confident to be successful professionals. Students actively participated in team activities conducted during the workshop.”
“With the blessings of Pujya Swamiji and with the support of Principal Sir and HOD Madam ,On April 30th, 2024, the Department of MBA , organized a community service visit to “Samprapti Foundation-Old Age Home.” The 1st-year B section students came together to donate groceries and daily essentials to the home. The students also had the opportunity to interact with the approximately 25 elderly inmates (both men and women) living there. The visit was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved. The inmates were overjoyed and offered their blessings to the students. The students then distributed snacks to the inmates. It was a day filled with joy and satisfaction, knowing that a small act of kindness could bring happiness to the elderly and make their day special”.

The event took place in the MBA Seminar Hall starting at 1:30 PM and featured Lieutenant. SESHADRIVENKATESAN, the Founder and Managing Director of NALS (ex-Indian Navy), as the distinguished speaker.
During the session, Lieutenant. SESHADRI VENKATESAN explained with examples various dimensions of nurturing leadership capabilities, emphasizing the application of diverse leadership styles and the significance of embracing risk-taking aptitude. Utilizing compelling examples drawn from the realm of adventure sports, he vividly illustrated the importance of calculated risk-taking in effective leadership.
The lecture concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where the I Semester MBA students enthusiastically engaged with the speaker, further enriching their learning experience.

” With the blessings of Pujya Swamiji and support of the Principal and HOD, the MBA department recently visited Sneha Jyothi Orphanage & Children’s Home on March 28th, 2024, as a community service initiative. The first-year A section students came together to donate groceries and daily essentials to the children. The visit included cultural performances by both the students and the children, showcasing their talents. Games were organized for the children, with winners receiving small gifts. To make the day even more special, the MBA students served snacks and beverages to the children.”
“Under the benevolent guidance of Pujya Swamiji, and with the steadfast support of our esteemed Principal and HOD-MBA, the Department of Management Studies (MBA) orchestrated a “Guest Lecture on Management Etiquettes” in collaboration with NIPM as part of the comprehensive activities offered by the student club for the I Semester Students of MBA (2023-25) on March 25, 2024. This program aimed to instil thoughtful conduct among students and cultivate them into well-mannered Business Management Aspirants.
Jacob Swamynathan, the Founder Director of Skill Factory, served as the distinguished resource person for the event. He engaged with the students, shedding light on various aspects of etiquettes including Interview Etiquette, Dress Etiquette, Table Etiquette, Communication Etiquette, Social Etiquette, and Workplace Etiquette. The session was exceptionally informative, providing students with a valuable opportunity to comprehend the significance of different etiquettes in fostering trust, nurturing connections, garnering respect, and cultivating a positive image of themselves in the eyes of others”.

Tailored to acquaint budding business enthusiasts with diverse facets of the corporate world, the competition unfolded in two exhilarating stages.
In the initial phase, participants engaged in a fierce battle across eight categories, meticulously crafted for both Section A and Section B. The top-performing teams from each section then progressed to the exhilarating finale of ‘Quiz Biz2k24.’
The quiz delved into various aspects such as bidding strategies, logos, taglines, acronyms, general knowledge, and current business affairs.
Every participant was duly recognized for their dedication, while the victorious teams were honoured with prestigious trophies and medals.”

The event has created a common platform to all the Management students to interact, explore and exhibit their skillset, knowledge and potentialities in academic, Sports and cultural. 35+ colleges around 400+ students have taken an active part in the event. The student coordinators of MBA-SJBIT have showcased their organizing skills with better planning and execution of multiple activities with better coordination. All the participants are appreciated and winners are awarded trophies, medals, certificate and Cash Prizes as a token of appreciation by HOD Dr. Mamatha J and Principal Dr. KV Mahendra Prashanth. “
“Under the gracious blessings of Pujya Swamiji and with the unwavering support of our esteemed Principal and HOD-MBA, a Guest Lecture titled “Career Guidance on Certified Management Accountant – US” for the I Semester Students was conducted on March 18, 2024.
The department had the distinct honour of hosting Mr. Raj Yellapantula, a Strategic Consultant Career Coach hailing from Centillion Singapore, as the esteemed speaker for the session. Mr. Yellapantula provided an in-depth exploration of the career opportunities within Cost and Management Accounting, emphasizing the crucial role of modern accounting tools in the decision-making process.
Various techniques of management accounting, such as target costing and ABC analysis, offering practical insights into their application served MBA students to gain valuable insights into the dynamic realm of management accounting and its significance in contemporary business landscapes. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement, and our sincere appreciation to our distinguished guest for sharing his expertise with the MBA Students of SJBIT.”
Mr. Punitham, alumnus of 2014-16 batch addressed students and provided inputs on “Opportunities for MBA graduates in marketing” on 22-08-2023. Also he spoke about the importance of communication skills about choosing right specialization and also about sales force application in organization.
Mr. Karthik L, Director at Hire Soul, Workwave LLP visited the department and addressed students on 22-08-2023 and enlightened on “Industry expectations from MBA students. He also gave a pre-placement talk.
Mr. Mahadev, Alumnus, was invited to deliver a talk on 11-07-2023. He is working as Sr. Executive HR at Hyundai. He explained about skills required by marketing students to succeed in marketing jobs and also threw light on present trends in automobile sector.
Mr. Mohan Kumar working in Refinitiv on 24-12-2022 and Mr. Kiran Gaonkar working in Fidelity were invited to address students of 3rd sem on 24-12-2022. Mr. Mohan spoke on the topic “Hiring process” and Mr. Kiran delivered on the topic “ITes Jobs”.
Alumni talk was organized on 21-12-2023 to address 3rd sem MBA students Ms. Kavya working in CAPGEMINI delivered a talk on the topic “Modern Valuation System” and Mr. Bharath, working in Finology Ventures Pvt. Ltd., gave insights on “Commodity Markets.
With the blessings of Pujya Swamiji and the support from respected Principal, pleased to inform you all that, Department of MBA organized a Alumni Guest Lecture on “Career Prospects and Interview Guidance “on 24 Jan 2024 for III Semester Students., in CSE Seminar Hall from 10:00 AM onwards. Speaker of the session was our alumni Mrs. Vidyashree,, HR-Head, Ovum Woman and child Specialty Hospital Bangalore. The session focused on a comprehensive understanding of career prospects and how to build career path and better utilization of resources. The event covered some key areas of entrepreneurship, opportunities available in different sectors and enhancing interview skills followed by questions and answer sessions. III semester MBA students actively participated in the session.”

“Ethnic Day under the theme Suggi Sambhrama 2024 was celebrated in the department on 31-01-2024.
Pujya revered Sri Sri Dr. Prakashnath Swamiji blessed the occasion at MBA department by offering flowers to Lord Sri Rama and Pujya Dr. Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji. Swamiji has highlighted the significance of celebrating Makara Sankarthi and blessed students and Staff by distributing Yellu-Bella.
The program was graced by Principal Dr.K V Mahendra Prashanth, Deans and Various department HOD’s, staff and Students. The program was started by invocation song
Principal appreciated the efforts of the students in creating of such an ambience in the form of a village atmosphere. Each and every property that was crafted by the students has added a significant value to the event.
Dr.Mamatha J-HOD,MBA guided all the students by nurturing their ideas in the process of bringing laurels to the event as well as igniting the young brains to work on their creative abilities and to give an application orientation to the management theories.
Students decorated the department with rangolis, flowers, sugarcane, and bullock cart adding an authentic touch to the event. The students also went an extra mile getting dressed by wearing dhotis and girls draped in sarees.
It added the perfect touch to the event by giving a rustic and rural feel. Few cultural events like singing, dancing and fashion show were organized on the occasion.

“With the blessings of Poojya Swamijis and the strong support from our beloved Principal and HOD video making competition Cultural Heritage of Karnataka on 13-12-2023. The objective of the event is to make students understand and spread prosperity, progress, culture and the cultural richness of Karnataka. Seven students took active participation and presented the videos made by them in the seminar hall. Winners and Runners were awarded with cash prize of Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 500.”

“With the blessings of Poojya Swamiji and support from respected Principal Sir, Navarathri Colours Week and Ayudha Pooja was celebrated in the department under Staff Club. These nine days are solely dedicated to Goddess Durga Matha and her nine avatars. Each day is associated to an incarnation of the goddess. Each day was worshipped with different avatars of Durga Devi and all the faculty members followed different colour codes on these days. Department also celebrated Ayudha Pooja and Saraswathi Pooja on this day as per the date prescribed by the college. The event started with performing pooja by Mr. Vijay Kumar G, Staff Club coordinator and followed by regular rituals across the department. All the faculties and Head of the Department witnessed the following event. All the Deans and Heads of various departments were invited for the said event. Finally, the event concluded with a serving of prasadam and sweets.

“One Day Intra Department Sports Day was organized for both II and IV sem students on 26-08-2033. Students of both I and 2nd year partici[ated enthusiastically and won the prizes. Badminton Doubles was won by II sem B section students and Singles was won by IV sem student.
A section IV sem students won a cricket tournament and II sem B section students were runner up”.
Department of MBA had visited “Sri Sathya Bharathi Ashrama and Vidyalaya” on 13.09.2023 as a part of community service.1st year B section Student’s unitedly contributed groceries, stationery kits to the ashram students and were entertained with cultural performances, Most of the ashram students exhibited their talents and few games were conducted and the winners were awarded with small gifts and our students took good care of them by serving lunch and made their day a memorable one”.
Department of MBA organized a Guest Lecture on “Brand Management and Future of Brands” on 06th September 2023, in MBA Seminar Hall from 10:00 AM onwards. Speaker of the session was Prof V. K. L. V. KUMAR, Director-Marketing at DHI Verifications, Bangalore. The session focused on a comprehensive understanding of how to build and manage a strong brand that resonates with their target audience. The event covered some key areas of brand management like Brand Elements, Brand Strategy and Communication, Brand Loyalty Indicators, IV semester MBA dual specialization students actively participated in the session”.

“Department of MBA organised Pot Painting Event on 19-07-2023 for IV sem students. The themes were decided by the students where the participants came up with the diverse state of mind and painted the pots very artistically. This event not only helped them to enhance their creative skills and talent but it also enriched the sense of team participation; where they could adapt the sense of urgency and the dynamics of the team. Eleven teams participated in the competition. The students enjoyed and did the artwork very enthusiastically.
Department of MBA organized a Guest Lecture Program on “Finance Role Readiness ” on 16th of June, 2023 Students of 4th semester A & B sections attended this event and speaker familiarize with various career options in finance & skills required to work in finance & accounts domain and she went on to explain the basis of cost accounting and how it is used. History of costing and elements of cost were the next topics and she explained the standard cost sheet and the difference between the cost center and profit center.
“Art out of Waste”+ competition was held for 4th sem MBA students on 16-06-2023 to showcase their creative talent and three prizes were announced.
1st prize was bagged by Mr. Kishore Kumar B L, Mr. Sai Kiran R Shindhe and Mr. Manoj M Naik

Which is a leading beverage manufacturing company in India. The visit was organized to blur the line between Academics and Manufacturing industry. We visited various units in the plant, that manufactures PET bottles, beverage fillers and quality check department. Ms. Himanath, Plant Tour coordinator, was the person who took us around their organization. Finally the visit was concluded with Q & A session, where students got their questions answered”.

Organized 3-days workshop on ” Technological Advancement in Management”: for I sem MBA students from 11-04-2023 to 13-04-2023. The objective of the workshop is to provide insights about advanced technologies in the field of management. Students actively participated in the three day workshop and were keen in learning technology driven HR processes, role of technology in Supply chain Management and digital marketing and so on. The work shop was a grand success with lot of takeaways by the students from well versed experts from the industry”
A guest was organized by Dept of MBA on “People Analytics & Business Strategy” on 08.04.2023.The speaker gave an extremely insightful talk on the importance of people, data & analytics and tools to explore these areas .The main purpose of this is to understand the usage and application of analytics in enhancing efficiency . He shared his profound knowledge about analytics and business strategy. He lucidly explained how Companies are now realizing that their success is built on people, and analytics can light the way from intangible theory-based decisions to real ROI.
“Students of III semester – HR were taken for industry visit to Strides Pharma in order to make them learn about the importance of HR policies like Employment Contract, Employee Wages, Code of conduct, Leave Policy, Employee Provident Fund, Gratuity Policy, Paternity and maternity leave policy sexual harassment in workplace”
“Students of III semester – Marketing were taken for industry visit to iKEA in order to make them understand about the practical applications of retail concepts in retail business like floor operations, product display, product handling, arrangement of the shelves, and inventory management”.

SUGGI SAMBRAMA Programme Conducted on 21/01/2023. There is a saying in Kannada “Ellu Bella Thindu Olle Maathadi” which depicts the importance of Sankranti that roughly translates to eat the mixture of sesame seeds and jaggery and speak only good.
FDP: 5 days online FDP program on ” Contemporary Trends in Management Research” was organized in the department from 06-12-2022 to 10-12-2022 and the program was a grand success with more than 50 participants from academics and corporate.
Quiz competition for 3rd sem MBA students on “NEP 2020” was conducted on 17-12-2022 on online mode and it was successful with 57 participants and one winner and one runner. The winner and runner were sent to VTU PG Center to participate at University level.
Department of Management Studies is extremely delightful to inform that the student chapter council under the flagship of renowned professional body NIPM was installed and inaugurated on 17th December 2022.
Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated in SJBIT on 30/11/2021 at SJBIT auditorium under cultural committee. All the departments participated in the competition (Group dance and singing). Students and faculties from MBA department also participated in singing and dancing competition with the theme “Namma Nadu, Namma Nudi” and won 2nd prize.

Cooking without fire competition was organized in our department on 4th May 2022 between 1.30 to 3.30 Pm. There were about 20 team of 40 participants who actively participated. The main aim of the activity is to encourage students to showcase their talent and explore new ideas.
