Use of AI in Research & Publication

With the blessings of Pujya Swamiji and the support from respected Principal Sir, pleased to inform you all that, NDLI Club and Library & Information Centre had organized a Technical Session on “Use of AI in Research & Publication” on 20th December 2023 at SJBIT Gallery. The session was conducted by Dr. Sunil. M.V, Asst. Professor, Systems and General Management, SDMIMD Mysuru.
In his inaugural address Principal spoke about the importance of Artificial Intelligence in research & publication of research paper. Insisted on use of these tools by research scholars & Advised faculties to up-skill their knowledge by learning AI tools and their proper usage. He said that we cannot rely entirely on AI for any research but we can adopt the technology as a supplement for fair use to some extent. Dr.Sunil, started the session with a live demonstration by asking one of the faculty to perform the tasks on a chosen topic of interest. The session was very informative delving into the nuances of Artificial Intelligence in Research and publications. Starting from, *how to give a search term in Google Scholar and filter the desired results; *saving the searches in Zotero the reference management tool, *creating a research paper in Chat GPT and Google Bard, *Creating References and Bibliography for the articles in MS Word, and *applying various styles of References. The session went on from 2:45 PM to 4:15 PM eliciting lot of curiosity and interest among the faculty.
