GUEST LECTURE ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

With the blessings of Pujya Swamiji and support of Principal, and the guidance of Dr. Gopalakrishnan M T, Professor & HOD of AI & ML, SJBIT.A guest lecture on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was organized at SJB Institute of Technology (SJBIT) on November 27th, featuring Dr. Somshekar K S, Professor of ECE, SJBIT. The session, attended by 5th-semester students, explored the significance of IPR, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets, in protecting innovations and fostering economic growth.

Dr. Somshekar discussed India’s and global IPR frameworks, providing practical tips for safeguarding ideas. Through real-world examples, he highlighted the role of IPR in driving innovation and supporting startups. The interactive session encouraged questions, promoting a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing. Attendees found the event insightful and motivating for their academic and professional growth.
